I have been reading this thread for the last 15 minutes and I'm not sure if I can continue on without closure here...do you need an admin to call your school for an excused absence?

In all seriousness I hope you find the perpetrators

They may have condos built out there now and a refinery.

I guess the trail cam worked. But the quality of work being done by aliens is slipping this isn't Easter Island or even Stonehenge...I guess the saying 'good help is hard to find' is true even for aliens...sad.

I found something like that once next to a creek when I was backpacking in Missouri. We set up camp next to it for the night and we woke up to the sound of a DEA officer stumbling and falling in the water lol. It was used as a cook spot for Meth and I guess the DEA knew about it but got there late lol.

Notify the authorities if you haven't already. Like others said, set up a trail cam. I say 10-12 feet high. Take pics of it. Tear it down and wait to see if/ when they return.

You can send an email to all my professors giving them your permission because I have to do some hardcore recon on this. I too want some closure and want to see if any progress has been made!

    LOL!

Benny, I hope this thing out in the woods doesn't cause you any real trouble 'cause I'd feel guilty about all the laughs this thread has given me.

Alright everyone so I went back out there today finally. They have proceeded to cut down trees and have a pretty good stack of trees by the shelter. They are also putting a roof on it for some reason??? It's hard to tell where they are coming from I scanned the area for a trail but wasn't able to find one. Here's some pics of the shelter as of today. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I'd suggest you put a stop to this soon. The more time and work they put into this the more hacked off they will be when you finally do boot them out. Who knows what they'll do then.

I would say that its not being "used" as anything at all. Whoever is building this thing has made almost no progress since this thread has been started. Sweet ladders though. Probably some high school stoners just messing around.

That's what I'm thinking. I left them a message out there told them to get the hell out of my woods. Next time I go out there the thing is coming down. It's got to just be some kids looking for a place to smoke some dope.

Speaking from experience, you don't need a shack and roof that requires that kind of work to smoke some dope
I would tear that thing down and get the law involved if necessary. Could be a meth lab in the making, and taking their time to see if anyone notices or cares.
We did some stupid stuff as kids, but to cut down trees and build that on someone else's land is going too far.

They definitely know what they are doing. Using reinforcement posts. Might have been boy scouts if they are teenagers. Definitely not there first time
