I would let them finish it so you can use it as a hunting blind then have them kicked out lol

I agree with the trail cam idea, but hang it high and pointed down....no-flash model. If the cam disappears, it is likely kids who can climb without sticks and such. If it turns out to be adults, I would contact your local LEO or DNR about trespassing and possibly illegal activity.

That would be my thought, and if it's not necessarily in a good hunting location, all the better place for a weekend campsite.

At least let them haul the supplies and do most of the work

Once they get it done slap a ton of no trespassing signs and trail cams everywhere, they likely won't be back.

People absolutely do plant pot fields and build dry houses on other people's land...just ask Justin. And let's just say I also have experience in this arena.

And I stand by my original comment- it is very unlikely kids built that. Do you see how high the poles are? The size of the base supports? It would take at least one grown-assed man to move logs that heavy w/o equipment. Growing up, I had several "survival" books and I used to build forts and the like all the time in the woods. I never laid anything out as precise or on the scale as what is under discussion here.

Also, I doubt it's meth-related. There is not a very high demand for meth in northern IL. It's way cheaper, easier, and less risky to buy already-produced meth from Mexicans.

Mexicans don't produce most of the meth.... and why wouldn't it be cheaper, easier and less risky in like.... Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri or any of the other states between Mexico and IL? lol

Report: Meth seizures at U.S.-Mexico border soared in 2014 - CBS News
over 80% of the meth in the US is produced in Mexico. That's a fact. It's cheaper and easier b/c in MX the precursor chemicals are not regulated and they import them directly from China, etc. It's better quality b/c they literally have chemists overseeing superlabs that produce it. It gets across the border and up north the same way as heroin, cocaine, and bulk weed- backpackers, planes, trains, automobiles, and semis. Another 10% or so of meth is produced in labs in California controlled by Mexican cartels who get the precursors smuggled in from....Mexico.

Something less than 10% is domestically produced the "old school" small batch way; breaking down batteries and using household chemicals in clandestine labs in the US. Which means it's unlikely the OP encountered a meth lab being constructed.

In my little part of southern ohio, I promise most of the meth is produced at home. There a labs being busted everyday.

Most of them being one pot variety so that wouldn't hold water to the structure being a meth lab but I would bet money that most of the meth in my county and the surrounding counties get theirs from right here, not mexico.

Interesting find on the structure. It will be very intriguing to see what is actually going on there. Keep us posted.

I say five pounds of carpet tacks and some gas, burn it done, spread tacks in ash, set back and watch the hospital's, you will find out who's trespassing and they will learn never to come back.

    But that's just me.

Because the last time someone went to the hospital with a serious carpet tack injury was when? Maybe about the first of never?

Haven't been able to get out and set up a cam yet. Hoping to get out Friday morning and stick one up in a tree somewhere. I'll give an update after a week or two when I go back out and check the cam.
