So I was in the woods today and came across a couple of oak tress, these are the first oaks that I have found on the property. I took a picture of the acorns and the leaf I found, I am thinking they are pin oaks but does anyone know what kind they are? and if this would be a likely food source for the deer come early fall next year? Looks like pin oak. The deer in my area aren't crazy about them, but they LOVE white oaks!

Pin oak. Deer will eat them here in NC but kind of as a last resort. As Early In said, they prefer White Oak over all others

pin oak, water oak or willow oak, usually the first to fall here in GA, deer will be all over then until the white oaks fall.
They will normally produce every year whereas the white oaks do not...
