Went out shed hunting a few days ago and caught a glimpse of a pile of deer hair. Curious I went and checked it out and what I found about made my heart fall into my stomach.

I had this buck on my trail cam for most of the season and last time I had him on camera was well after rifle season so I was excited he survived! It stinks he didnt make it, meat was still very fresh on the carcass so I assume it was just a tough winter for him.

Rough scored him at 154 2/8.....any guess on age?

Wow Jenna. That buck was a stud. At least you have an end to the story, not the one we were hoping for, but at least you know.

Never good to find them like this, that is a bummer. I would say he was 4.5 years. At least you found him in good shape, you'll be able to get a nice euro mount out of him. Sorry you had to find him like that though.

Sad to see an awesome deer like that get found dead. Happiness is knowing that he lived at least 4.5-5.5 years and likely spread his genes around the local area. I'm sure you will find more like him before long;)
