He was by no means a monster, but if I knew then what I know now (thanks to you guys.) I would have let him go. He had some great potential. It was cold out that day. Thank god for Jack D's. On this first pic, if you look up and to the left, you can see the rack from my dad's deer two years prior to this year(07).
Nothing wrong with that one bit!!! As long as your happy with your deer, that's what matters. Congratulation's on your buck last year!! Well done!!
Don't get me wrong, I was more than happy with that deer. My uncle and I had gone out that morning. We agree'd to get down for coffee at about 1030. I shot him at 0830-ish. So about 0900 I walked out to get the cart, and put my bow down. But, when I got there, the cart was gone! My uncle had shot one about 0800, and was on his way back with it when I got there. We cleaned up, and went home. lol. That was probably the best morning in my hunting history. Well, that and the morning, the rifle hunter on some adjacent property came over to tell us that he had found my (first ever) deer. He had a lawn chair set up on the edge of a field. He found my deer 10 yds behind him after the sun rose:d . THe actual owner of that property was a (insert expletive), and wouldn't let us retrieve animals on his property. So that rifle hunter was nice enough to drag my deer to the property line. We bought him a 12 pack for his kindness. Really wish I could have seen something this year. Gonna give it another crack this weekend. Unfortunatly, with our trip scheduled for the end of the month, This could be my last attempt...(very sad)
