I found my first dead head in long time. Any suggestions on what to do with it?

Honestly I leave most of them in the woods where I find them. Unless it's really large or a deer I have some sort of history with I really don't want them for anything. I used to have a pile of skulls laying around my garage and shed that I threw away one day.

I can understand this. It's pretty rare for me to find something like this. Like I mentioned it's been awhile. The last time I found one was over 20 years ago. I want to clean it up and put it in my workshop or something. Just curious what others have done in the past. :tu:

With a dead head like that, I might keep the antlers for rattling. The skull doesn't look worth keeping.

Have one mounted over the entry to the shed where we hang our deer. Might mount them onto my box stand. Other than that wouldn't do anything special with them.

I used to save them all, now I just throw them in a box in the garage. Figure I will dump all the boxes on land somewhere I know a guy shed hunts. Cant wait to get the text about finding piles of buck skulls.

I did consider that, however the horns are pretty dried up. I don't think they'd give that realistic sound.

Sell it on ebay I bet you could get about $40 for it. That's what I do with them.

I give stuff like that to kids. They will think it's the coolest thing ever. Their parents might not like you much for it though

I have never found a dead head or even a shed, so I WOULD clean not up and display it happily!! I think they are pretty cool..

For those of you who don't do anything with dead heads that you find, what do you do with your sheds that you find?

My dog & kids love to play with them (but the squirrels always have first dibs!)
