Hey guys so this morning (1/22) I was scouting and I found a very fresh rub (less than 24 hrs old). I've never seen a rub this late in the season before. Has anyone seen a rub this late? Any input would be helpful. FYI this tree is only about 2 in thick, maybe 3ft high rub. IMG_3343.JPG

He may have shed one side and trying to get rid of the other.

Long as bucks have antlers and there are does that havnt been bred yet you will see rut activity every 28 days or so after the 1st rut. Watched 3 big bucks after a doe on Jan 18th last year.

    This.

Some bucks here started dropping around Christmas this year per my trail cam pics. I'd say he was trying to drop his other side.

You guys think that it would work to use those synthetic forehead gland on some trees in high traffic areas to try and get them to make rubs and shed their antlers there? I get bored in the off season.

Roger that on being bored in the offseason. Who cares about the chances of it working? As long as it doesn't pose a negative result, do it! That's how we get smarter... experience with successes and flops.
