I found this big stone blade while planting my food plots yesterday. Any ideas what it might be used for?

    Gri22ly, Crick?

A Native American planted it there in hopes of screwing up a white man's plow in the future. Did it work? Can't see it too clearly myself (too small). Does it appear notched for a handle or is it not sharp on one side like a handheld blade?

I can hardly dig a hole in my yard and not find this kind of stuff and sometimes with the lawn mower, I have lost 2 windows in the house in the last few years.

just wondering if you have something like a hide scraper..... My cousin has something similar to that and was told it was for scraping hides. Although, I do believe that his has one side that does not have an edge to it.

I have found over a hundred in my 5 acre field that look like the ones you posted. I've been told that these could be rough blanks that they would make out in the field so they weren't so heavy to carry back to camp.

You were told wrong, this is false.....the oldest artifacts in the Americas are most advanced and well made (Paleolithic).

John, if it shows wear or polishing on the end it was used as a hoe.....if not its a blank. I just rolled one out a couple weeks ago....the one I found is a blank.

Oh, and it could have been a hand axe....but considering what youve found there so far, I would say its a blank.

John, nice find! I think its a blank as I have mentioned before. As gri22 said possable Hoe. But it looks like the edge still has sharp edges making me think its another blank. You have the biggest blank bank I have ever seen :p Nice one to gri22! I had a red one similar in size to yours John,,course its gone from the fire
