When did your season go out? I am still seeing some active scrapes here in South Jersey.

reg season in the northern zone where I hunt ended on the 2nd of Jan and in the southern zone it ended on the 15th... In the metro counties it ends on the 31st of Jan, but it is next to impossible to find a place to hunt in one of the metro counties, I have been trying..

Weird for me this year was first "normal" season I have seen in the last 3 years, as far as a hard rut.

the thing that is hard to deal with here in the south is we seldom get a well defined rut with all the chasing like in the Midwest.. For years here in GA we have gotten what is referred to as a trickle rut, which is where it can seem they are in rut the whole season or from mid Oct to the end of Jan but it seems weak and never just wide open chasing phase.

Trickle is what I saw the 2 years prior to this year. When it is a good hard rut here in the pre rut chase phase the does at my place will be in the yard close to the house in the open to get away or discourage the bucks from chasing them.
