For those of you that know me I am never happy unless I am experimenting with something new. for several years I have wanted to try "forage" soybeans but was unwilling to spend the $70-$80 per bag to trial them. this year while looking for a ag bean that acted like a forage bean Tom Lester hooked me up with a seed dealer that had exactly what I was looking for. this seed is a stein 3132-4 variety that grows huge leaves and as you can see they are very tall. the tonnage is amazing
my observation of these soybeans is that when grown in areas that allows them to mature they are great But when they are heavily browsed they won't keep growing like a true forage soybean I will plant them again as they are less than 1/2 the cost of the other forage soybeans available to us.

There were a few weeds in a couple of places and I hate weeds! so I was spot spraying them and using liquid fertilizer at the same time

I know NWTF gives out free forage beans for planting as long as you promise not to harvest them.

Bob, this may be a stupid question and I could probably look it up, but would rather just ask...LOL

Ok, these are forage beans and obviously they have pods on them. But, how many pods will they actually grow per plant as compared to a regular bean?
