This came off the Rage website as well. Some have seen the results of Rage BH's, some haven't. Watch the video regardless. The holes that these heads make impress me, plus its a pretty cool video. Make sure you watch at least half of it, you don't want to miss the lion:huh:

    Rage BH's

I thought I may switch back to a fixed blade only this year, but now I'm thinking I may stick with the Rage 2 Blade. They haven't let me down yet

I watched the video and it's no doubt impressive, but IMO no more impressive than a collection of dead animals shot with any other head. They just have the "celebs" to push their product and make them look more legit.

Another thing I noticed on this video and all the shows/DVDs that push Rage is the lack of pass-throughs. Call me old fashioned, but I'll take a nice low exit hole over a big high entry hole any day.

Agreed, they do have a lot of "big names" pushing their product, but they also preform as well. I noticed the lack of pass-throughs as well. But only had 1 of the 4 deer I have shot with the 2 Blade didn't get a pass-through. I shot him 17 yards from the ground broadside. It broke a few ribs and punched out his lungs but the ribs hit something in the spinal cord and he only went about two yard and was dead within a minute. So the tracking job was quite easy. But like I said, I'm still debating on weather or not to switch back to a fixed head

I have shot NAP since 2000 and have lost two deer. Neither would have died if I was shooting a Rage broadhead, so I don't see the need to switch heads as long as my shot placement is on. I will stay old fashioned and shoot the sharpest blades in the industry.

Rages do seem to make some very impressive holes in animals.

But, it only takes a very small hole through the chest to deflate a pair of lungs.

I'm going to stick with my fixed heads for maximum penetration until I see a real reason to switch.

AGREED! Poor penetration - and I'd guess those guys shoot some high poundage well tuned bows.

No doubt most any BH will do on deer size game...but I still like to be prepared for that less than perfect hit to large bone (shoulder)...my last 7 deer have been pass through out of 60lb bow - one through center shoulder. Last 5 have been same arrow, just changed blades...looks like a lot of broken arrows for the Rage boys on top of most expensive BH.

But...Marketing most definitely works...and this is America...more power to them.
    I'll stick with Muzzy until I find a downside...

Large entry hole + pass through + 2.5" of cutting surface = SLICK TRICK! :D

    p.s. - I'm a celebrity on the Siman's videos so this is legit :D:beer:

After shooting Rage last year I'm switching back to Slick Tricks this year. One deer and a couple of hogs fell to the Rages. I wasn't terribly impressed. The blood trails were no better than those I experience with STs and penetration is MUCH better with the fixed blade head in my experience.

They will be on the end of my arrows again this season. I love em, and I get about 90% pass thrus. That's good enough for me.

X2. I don't need a 2 inch entry hole. Give me a pass through any day. Blood on the ground is so much more fun. Shuttle T baby.

This months Bowhunter magazine has a great story on broad heads and penetration, its not rocket science, and it shouldn't be, its more like common sense, but of course common sense is not very common when discussing broad heads performance.

I shot a P&Y last season that field dressed at 195 with a 100 grain Wac' em. The shot was just behind the shoulder, passed through and he only went 20 yards crashed and did the low scramble for another 20 and was dead in less than 5 minutes. With results like that I don't want to risk penetration on expandibles. However, as I start to damage broadheads I am thinking about going with the 100 grain Shuttle T Locks. They look really solid and claim to have near feild point accuracy. Anyone use them, if so how have they performed?

There are a lot of ney sayers when it comes to rage heads, but it seems everyone has a little secret obsession " oh they are impressive" "they do put some serious holes in deer" " the blood trails are awesome" , "but, I like my penetration" come on boys....just try em...you know you want to...it's like the forbiden fruit isn't it?...:d Im just messing with yall, don't start a Rage thread! I like em and so far they have done well with my buddy and I, 11 deer down between us last year all with Rage heads..I have no problems with fixed heads either and carry with me as well...but it will be Rage until they give me reason not to..there are a lot of impressive fixed heads too.
