Vito started the language translation thread a few messages ago. Let's see how you do after the prior language immersion course. These are some hardcore boys not far down the road: http://704outdoors.com/dogs-catch-the-hog-beth-sticks-the-hog-now-what-after-the-hunt-video/ (Sorry, I couldn't find the direct youtube link, but the URL should allow you to view and/or click thru to youtube)
I couldn't decipher what was actually words, versus random noises. I am now starting to wonder if this language is similar to that of African tribes. A series of noises are actually words. This is fascinating. Someone should study this.
Now I am intrigued. Do english teachers in the south actually speak english? Do schools bring them in from english speaking parts of the country? Kind of like foreign exchange students? If there is a God, Hooker sounds just like these people.
Its like listening to an Ausie, Brit or Indian, its all English, you just need to spend some more time getting (or gittin) accustom.
So an example of a good friend of mine moved here from Ohio and is an english teacher, and was blown away by the speech and grammar....is something I shouldn't say because its giving into your conclusion right?
I think he went by "mazterovdizaster." Wasn't he the guy who thought the best place to aim was between the shoulder blade and backbone, then blamed his BH for losing deer? My sincere apologies if I have the wrong person.
I have told my son and his friends, on more than one occasion, that if I was a teacher, I don't think any student who used "Aint", "Fixin ta", "Nu uh", or who wants to "Ax" me a question, or that uses any other such incoherencies in my English class would receive an A, no matter how well he or she did on my tests. That being said, I have seen enough interviews of northern sports stars and read enough BH.Com threads to know that southerners do not have a lock on improper grammar usage.
That is one of the many many many perks associated with living in WI. We are one of the only states where natives don’t have an accent or dialect. We just speak English. I have inlaws that live or have lived in AL, LA and GA and I find myself wondering what language they are speaking and if their schools teach English at all??? It might be helpful if WI teachers were exported to these other states to try to teach them how to talk.
Watched Fargo one time, and thought the same as above. Then saw Lee and Tiffany and yep, same thing...All of you guys sound like the mom on Bobby' world...
Hell, that guy is slow and waste a lot of motion gutting a critter. I'm pretty damn good and quick and I usually only use a 3 1/2 inch Gerber pocket knife. Now my brother... the true meat hunter of all hunters is whickedly fast. I'm serious... Don't be standing near by or you'll get lots of blood splatter. But... he has the critter cooler ready before you can wipe off the first splatter on your clean face. I know he's killed way over 300 whitetails. I know NO ONE ever gutted one of his. He has hunted with one group for 50 years. I would venture to say he's gutted every or nearly every deer the group has killed... so add a few more hundred. If you turn your back...he's done. No joke.... the guy is something else to watch in action. He'd have 3 pig done while these boys are talking about it.
What?? I know a bunch of WI guys on here and they all have a funky accent. even when the say there own state it sounds like it comes out Wiscooonson,,,heave on the Con you guys need us Southerner's to teach you how to talk
Dude it's a movie...I don't assume you would actually sound like the assistant fooball coach on the movie Water Boy
I understood every word. As a matter of fact, I don't need the subtitles on swamp people. :what: Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
That wasn't too bad. I have family that sound like banjos when they talk, mixed in with the occasional chuckle and coon dog baying.
Sometimes, when I get real excited I sound exactly like him ,,,Oh yeah, I just shot a great buuuuuuuucccccccckkkkkk, he's sooooo big. He came across the criiiiiicccckkk...now say it slowly, mimicking the fargo accent and bam, you guys all sound alike To speak down here you must be able to pronounce the important part of the word and leave the rest out. This is why you guys think we talk so fast. You waste time saying/over pronouncing the whole word Any of you ever see the study where they give you words that are spelled backwards, incorrectly etc...but they put the key letters in another color and your brain identifies the correct wrod....well in the south we only say the colored letters of the word, mix in a few animal noises and grunts, create some of our own words and bam...conversation
