For those wondeiring how bad the ticks are this year.....

I always use tick spray on my clothes, seems to work. Knock on wood

 

I was pretty lucky this spring. (at least I hope I'm safe to say that)
I spent a lot of days turkey hunting and got covered by them every time out. I'm not exaggerating to say that I picked between 4 to 12 ticks off myself every time when I got home. That's after picking a half dozen off of me while I was hunting.

This fall and next spring I'm doing the permithrin thing hard. Gonna spray down my clothes and the insides of my blinds and might even spray the areas where I will be setting next to trees.

I'll admit that not to long ago I chuckled at everybody freaking out about ticks. I'm little by little getting freaked out myself now.

 

Well the one thing I think is the best for them is Copenhagen. Our uniforms are treated with permethrin and we use everything in the army and it never really works. When your sleeping on the ground and out for weeks in the woods. But what I have noticed and believe is that people that smoke/dip get either none to maybe 1 or 2 compared to the people that dont in a 24 hour period. Iv watched one crawl on to me and it got close to my hand stopped and got off of me before. So needless to say the only time we dont have a dip in is while we are sleeping. Just some knowledge that I know is true first hand.

 

A couple of years back a guy walked into the Maryville Baptist Church behind my house during Sunday service . He walked up the middle of the church then pulled out a hand gun and killed the pasture in front of a few hundred people. He was ruled incompetent for trial and this was due to the fact he had l Lyme disease. WTH? So if you have Lyme decease please to go on a homicidal spree.
