I just wanted to put this out there, one thing my father did quite a few years back was sit down and write down all of his memories with me in the outdoors as a child, teenager, and then young adult. He gave it to me in my late 20s, and I have tried to keep it up since, writing stories for hunts, fishing, you name it. Just an old hardbound notebook, and it remains a cherished possession. All the more so after he passed. This week I started own for my son, and ordered a leather-bound personalized one for him and my soon to be born daughter. I plan to show it to him at Christmas so we can write down the adventures together. I just want to put it out there as something to start for those with young kids, or a thought for those of you with grown children as well. Takes some time, but not a lot of money. And in my family those stories are priceless.
That’s an awesome idea! I just got my 6 and 3 year old both bows and they are so stoked, practicing non stop. I see many hunting adventures in our future. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I like the idea as well. Never thought about doing this, but I will start as soon as my two boys are old enough to join me in the woods.
I sure miss my Pops. His life in the Marine Corps, traveling and hunting around the world... We were both too busy with life to sit and talk details. It’s time to fill in the stories with ancestry charts to preserve the stories while we make new memories.
That's awesome! I'm sure that will be something they treasure especially as they get older. Blessings..........Pastorjim Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
