If you have one with a IR port for a wireless remote, your smartphone can possibly double as a remote!

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and it has the IR Blaster built into it for controlling TVs and stuff (I think all the newer Samsung™ Galaxy series smartphones have this capability but I'm not 100% sure) I just found out this morning that I also can use it to take pics and record video with my Canon Revel T5i

Y'all probably already knew all this stuff lol but I just discovered it and was pretty pumped about it

Interesting. I wish they would put the IR on both the front and back of the camera. I have an IR remote for my Sony A57, but a lot of times I want to use if from behind the camera while it's on a tripod. I have to reach around in front of the camera to get it to trigger. Or, they could just make it blue tooth.

I second the Bluetooth idea! It might drain the battery a lot faster tho which is possibly why its not a feature we've seen yet
