    Weird if you ask me. How long will it take to do this background check? Is it at my expense to do so? I live in NC, but my family is in SC. Now, in SC in order to get a handgun, you have to have to be a resident of SC with a valid State ID. You go to the gun shop and give them your ID and it takes about 30 mins and if all is good, you purchase your gun. Been that way for years. Background check is done in minutes, not days.
