I only got about 10" penetration with the arrow and after I did shoot the bear with a second arrow and once I skinned it I could see there was only a small hole with the diameter of a closed rage BH, it went in between two ribs.

There was just one small hole I found after skinning the bear that's it, that's how I knew it never opened and the lack of arrow penetration

And it wouldn't be possible for the blades to open up and then get tucked in under the o ring again all perfectly.

I have never seen a rage that did not open by design it is not possible for the blades to not open when the head penetrates. Then again with any broadhead strange things happen when any head hits bone. I will say it again Rage should get in the arrow business to sell their heads on a properly weighted arrow.

If you liked the montecs. Try the VPA vented 100gr. 3 blade. Like trial153 said there the top of the food chain for that kind of head.

Well I will tell you that even a mechanical brodhead that doesn't open if put where it should will in fact kill a deer!! What ever broadhead you use practice enough so when that moment of truth comes you make that kill shot in the vitals!!
