I noted that later in my comment....the quoted text you cited though is merely about standard fixed heads not single bevel heads. The twisting action done by singe bevels undoubtedly in my research and studies others have done prove the twisting action absolutely jellies the insides. I stand with you bud on the single bevel train....I just haven't found one that flies better than my slicks or one I'm willing to spend the money on.
Yeah, I really think they ate the ultimate broadhead. Got some 125 grain helix in the mail. Not sure how they fly yet but my bareshafts are flying with fletched so they should be dead on. Paid a little over 100 shipped for 6. Total arrow weight is right at 485. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am going to get a pack of either Helix, Heartaway or some from Alaskan Bowhunting.....probably 175grains. Just hope they fly as well as my Slicks, if they do I won't ever look back to the Slicks....which is something I never thought I'd say.
I went with the 125 because I already am shooting 75 grain brass inserts. Should have an amazing set up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I always thought that people killing deer with fixed heads was a "urban legend" type myth? Surely you guys are kidding that you shoot that outdated technology... Wow... Talk about a bunch of Golmers around here.
I'm tellin ya Ty you gotta check this dude out... I have been playing with the head he sent me home with at the ATA. It shoots awesome. Heart Away Broadheads
I reached out to them with some construction and right/left bevel question....been a week assuming they're busy. Will give till end of February to get back, would go a long way to getting my business.
Nope, as busy as I am never know if I have long to talk...gonna wait a week and if nothing will place a call.
If you need to call HMU and I will text you Sams number (not the one listed on the Website) He is a good dude and I am sure he will be happy to help ya out.
You didn't wait for the deer to present a decent shot angle. Then you completely blew the shot and made a high gut shot that just happened to be high enough to clip artery. Your arrow didn't even pass all the way through. You didn't have a drop of blood to track but luckily you had snow. You got lucky on small deer. Whatever broadhead you use, you had better start working on your shot angles and arrow placement a whole bunch more.
Reading threads like this expecting to learn what broadhead is the best is comical at best.. Thats like reading a thread about xxx bow being the best. Everyone and their brother is going to have their own opinion and say this one sucks and this one is best, when in fact almost all of the will work.. I killed blah blah deer with this bow or broadhead! Its the BEST one ever made!!!!!!!!
Undoubtedly opinion plays a role in choice, but there are traits or characteristics in the design of broadheads that result in factual findings and scientific facts on performance. Anything pumped through both lungs whether a field point or a 5 inch mechanical is going to kill and do it quickly.
I just followed your link. I had never seen these before and I am intrigued. I think il order some to try out.
Show me the scientist in here... :P These threads are all based on opinion tho.. the mechanical guys are always gonna be all how they are the best and how they ALWAYS open and they are the poop and the fixed blade guys will be how mechanicals dont always open and how fixed blades are the poop. Its always the same.
False, some hunters believe or not acknowledge the basic facts about broadheads and realize some succeed in some categories, potential sacrifice other categories and it is the hunter that ultimately makes the decision based on how they weight the options.
Bro. Dont take the bait. Work on them trail camming skills...your gonna have to compete with the Goo Roos this spring
