I don’t know how much you weigh, but I’m at 226 right now and I assure you, the rail bears 100 percent of my weight including my pack, bow and even the platform on my feet when I’m raising it while climbing - probably about 255-260 pounds total. My arms are just stabilizing me and aren’t really “load bearing”. I trust the strength of the frame enough that when I need to adjust the bottom platform after getting up the tree I’ll put one leg over the top rail, lay down on the top section, reach down and adjust it. When your stand arrives and you use it a few times you’ll trust yours too.
Oh I'm sure it is, it's just building that trust, getting old sucks in that regard. That was a lot of my issue with the lonewolf and sticks. I didn't want to truat the lineman's belt and sticks I was standing on amd putting all the effort on myself. I think this is the way for me to go, just have to learn how to do it with as little effort as possible. I'm not worried about speed, that will come with trust in the set up. Currently 204 empty and 208 between meals and water. A hell of a lot better than the 249 I was back in June.
Lancaster archery has the Summit viper SD on sale right now for $ 289.99 for anyone looking for one. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
I use the crappy stiff straps with those climbers for probably 15 years. This year is the 1st year I've had comfortable straps for my tree stand. I wouldn't even know what to do with myself if I had a transport thing like that. Lol
That's all I've used on any of my stands, I could never get them to where the stand would not shift on my back. I only had to hang and take down once a season, and sometimes never hung it at all. With now having to take in and out on public every sit I didn't want that frustration
I think this thing may be going back until I find something out about the hazmore seat. With the stock seat the seat is between your back and the inside of the vest. When I have clothing on there's no way I'll get the chest strap connected, it's way too short. So many adjustments to it that when you get the upper and lower sections together you can't find/reach adjustment straps.
So got one of the FasTrack hooks yesterday and put it on this morning. Had quiver and a coffee thermos hanging from it. Kind of nice having it right there at your side rather than having to either stand or twist and reach behind you. Left it on for the walk out and must say, it added balance to it countering the 3rd hand bow holder. They both equally snagged and latched onto anything they could, the sudden twists to the left and then to the right was very close to going to a chiropractor I'm sure.
buy once, cry once. I've had the original Tree Stand Gear version for 10 years. You can even buy the extra loops and put them on multiple stands, just switch out the pack section. I actually don't really like the Summit bungee style one (came with my Summit.) It's not bad with just the weight of the stand, but if you strap your fanny pack to the stand, the extra weight bounces with the bungees and it's annoying. Just my .02. I prefer cheapo ALICE style back pack straps to the Summit. https://smile.amazon.com/US-Peaceke...ack+shoulder+straps,sporting,148&sr=1-17&th=1
heavy duty zip locs are your friend, be sure to 'try' and get the belt riding on your hips... it is trial and error .. ive had mine for several years and it still seems to want to sit low , and I keep every thing snugged up tight and use the zips to snug the belt to the back portion, its on my Alpha II .. ....
