I found an accessory package on Amazon that replaces your (in my case Summit) backpack straps with bungee style ones. They are a lot more comfortable than the stiff original ones that came on the stand. Also comes with a bungee tether to tie the upper and lower units together. No more getting the rope that I used caught between the tree and stand teeth.

I definitely with the upgrade. Just though I’d pass the info along. Much easier on the shoulders.

I'll ride this post rather than create a similar title.

Best sit and climb out there?

Summit Viper for me. I have had mine for 20+ years. Replaced the seat once awhile back. Very comfortable to sit in.

Mine came with those products when I got my climber. I personally don’t like the back straps but haven’t got a replacement set yet.

You guys have the Pro or the SD, only $27 in price difference but curious if the Pro is just too big while on the back?

They all suck to carry… the difference is negligible

Just put on those straps this year. Way more comfortable.

Summit viper hands down!! I used one for 10 years until I went trendy with a saddle. This is what I did with mine and recommend everyone do the same.

    1. Ditch the "arm pads" it comes with.
    2. cover the entire thing (except for the foot treads) with digi camo hockeystick tape. (no more metal clink sound)
    3. get rid of the stock seat (weighs 1 pound btw) and buy a hazmore seat. (places you up higher, and combind with the footrest, makes standing up easier)
    3. Get the XOP TTS
    4. Thridhand archery stabilizer straps (makes the stand rock solid on the tree like a hang on
    5. Buy a summit foot rest
    6. Thirdhand archery bow holder. climb with your bow in the holder....for real!!

camo hockey stick tape: (3 rolls should do it) https://smile.amazon.com/Renfrew-Pa...sprefix=camo+hockey+stick+tape,aps,113&sr=8-4

No, I like the stiffness of the cables on the Summit as opposed to the softer belts on the LW. I watched numerous videos of the belts and saw them get caught on loose bark. I'd still be in a Summit if I didn't figure out I could cut my load in less than half with a saddle. well technically I'm still using a Summit as my climbing method/platform.

Gotcha, I'm down to either the summit viper pro or possibly doing a trade including a LW S&C.

I didn't realize all the turmoil going on with Lone Wolf. Right now you can't even get the replacement belts for them. Supposed to be coming out with a nee climber in '23 but it's going to $900. Regular LW stand are now $5-600 new.

    Crazy

Yeah he replacement belts is the worrying part for sure. I'm curious to see what LWCG comes out with for the weight of their climber in 2023.

Its your money, but I wouldn;t get the Summit pro. so much exposed hollow aluminum needed for their rail system. imagine how loud a zipper would clink on that exposed aluminum on a cold still November morning with a shooter buck 20 yards away! Maybe I'm just overly paranoid! lol

I'm no longer able to imagine a shooter buck in range  I'm going to be lucky to get a deer period.

So what would you suggest the Viper Sd? I have no idea how many models there are

My Summit is light as could be with the hazmore seat. I can get to a tree and be set up in prob under 5min if I'm on the move.

Lone Wolf sit and climb slid down a tree while I was climbing once… last time I used that stand .. does not bite in like my Summit
