This weekend was youth turkey, I knew only because the DEC e- mailed me. Here is my question, didn't youth turkey USUALLY happen the weekend before normal season,or has it always been 2 weekends before? The reason I ask is no shots and nearly no posts on several.sites.made about youth hunting. I am wondering if guys might not have realized????
It typically does fall on the weekend prior to the opener. This was a weird year as it was week and a half before the opener AND fell on Easter weekend. I know of two guys who were kicking themselves because they didn't know that it was the youth weekend. It definitely seemed like the amount of junior hunters out this year was down.
