Sat all day today. Saw two doe 45 minutes before dark. They came by at 20 yards but I had no shot opp. :( I wanted to let my recurve eat.

Brad, if the conditions are right, all day sits will pay off. If the conditions are not right, you could really feel like you are wasting your time. GOOD luck.

I agree with BZ on the dates and such, except for around here those dates might be around November 6th-10th or so.

I started my all day sits today (6:00AM - 6:30PM) and I saw exactly ONE deer! A lone doe at 12:45PM, and I would have killed her had she not seen me smack one of the MANY GNATS that were harrassing me ALL DAY while the relentless WIND was blowing them into my eyes. It was disheartening, but I'm doing it again tomorrow and Saturday! :tu:

I'll be doing my first full day sit tomorrow, under a freeze warning for tonight so it will be by far the coldest morning of the season to date. Only a slight warm up through the weekend so hopefully after all this insanity known as weather the past week, deer will be up and moving.

I can sit all day and not get bored, my boredom comes when I'm not on stand. If I get down I'm done for the day, unless switching stands, the distance to the property doesn't allow mid day breaks. My biggest problem and fear is dozing off, about noon to 1:30 I can't keep my eyes open. Tried 5 hour energy and it hasn't worked, think I'll try snickers this year, ate two at work yesterday and I was wired.

I wont start all day sits till the middle of next week, and that is only if the temps are around average or below. I love all day sits, but it is easy to get burned out if a person starts to early in the season.

Just about through what would normally have been off stand. Although I didn't see a deer after about 10:15 I'll still call it a success as there is one less turkey killing yote running the woods.

From what I witnessed this morning I see no reason to not continue all dayers. 15 deer total, 5 beings bucks. 1 shooter(for me) and one that never offered a shot to decide. One of them decide when the shot presents itself.

Sometimes all day sits for me are spur of the moment. I've done It early In the year and during the rut and late In the year. Have had success In seeing good bucks during the chase phase but not any other times. Late In the year here It's too damn cold doing all day sits. I've done them but It' a real ***** staying warm when the temps aren't above zero.
