Finally the buck I wounded walked by the camera showing his right side 2 nights ago, that's the side I hit him on. It's tough to see but you can see the wound on where I hit him on October 19th. It's high on the shoulder. Another Inch or 2 down and I believe he would of been a dead buck. The camera Is about 15 yards away from the deer so the footage Isn't very good.

Yesterday evenings hunt (another frustrating one)!! Minutes before shooting light was about to expire, he made another appearance but this time I had some light to work with. It's thicker then heck where my shooting holes are and you pretty much have no Idea what's going to walk by you until It's there. I have 2 small openings about a foot In diameter to shoot through. When he made It to the spot I needed him to be at I couldn't get drawn back soon enough. I wasn't 100% sure It was him until he hit my shooting hole. It's pretty tough to pull a 62lb recurve back and wait for him to appear, don't work with these bows to well. If he would've stopped or If my shooting lane would've been much bigger there would be a chance we'd be looking at some success photo's Instead. You all are probably getting sick of me talking about my many encounters with this buck this year, try being me. I've saw him 3 times since I wounded him (8 yards, 18 yards, 12 yards), every time besides this last time It's been to dark to shoot.

    Dang Bro...what a buck!

No way these are the best threads of the year..like Germ with the big 10, it's something to watch it all unfold hunt after hunt!

He'll slip up and your technique is good! Stay on him.

I agree with Bob, Steve. Don't stop with the updates til he's on the ground! If someone doesn't like it, they can simply hit the back button or not open the thread at all!

Not in a million years, buddy.

It's gonna make it all the more special when we finally see you kneeling behind him one day. :)

Well Schultzy...at least the buck is ok.

Think how bad you would feel if you mortally wounded the buck and never found him.

Good luck still gettin him this Fall!

That is a hell of a buck Steve. Stay patient and take your time. Do what you know to do bud.

Most people would be rattled by a lot smaller deer than that. You have got the nerves though Steve. Put it on him.:D

I couldn't see a wound from the video, but it's pretty clear it's him from those kickers. You'll have to get a better picture to show the wound. Preferably one with you behind him.;)

I feel like it's going to happen pretty soon for you buddy. You're getting to look at him frequently now it seems and I think he's going to mess up one too many times very soon. Good luck and stay with him!

You are way more dedicated than I am. I would have begged/borrowed/stole a compound today and killed him tonight. :D ;)

Keep at it Steve, you'll get him.

    Rule #1 of hunting forums,

You can never post about a big buck too much (I would know)

Good luck with him again Steve, if anybody can do it, you can.

Glad to hear he made it! That's gotta make you feel better.

I checked my cams for the first time in a few weeks and I didn't see the buck I shot...I was praying I would.
