over all my feet are in pretty good cond for a 53yo man, all except for my heels. they are dry calloused hard and cracked... Any suggestions what I can soak them in the soften them up or remove the dead skin...

Maybe a good pedicure? there has to be a good home remedy...

sounds like overkill.. heck at least this thread isn't about my kids poop...:p

I know one thing if the rest my foot was as tough as my heals I could walk through a pile of sand spurs and not even feel it...

Listerine/vinegar and warm water. 1 cup listerine, 1 cup vinegar and 2 cups warm water.

If you want something more simple, you can try a warm epsom salt soak.

Try some Okeeffe's Healthy Feet foot cream. If you find it in a store you may as well get their Working Hands hand cream too. Both are very good products. I can't find it in any store other than the Home of Economy up here in ND. I just Googled it though and it's available online at a lot of places. It's well worth a try.

    Ten minutes or so.

I've used it in the past, though mine weren't terrible. Works pretty well.

never done it to my feet but many times with my cracked/chapped hands.
with hands, i coat them in vasaline petro-jelly, slip on a pair of laytex gloves then a pair of regular jerseys over them. sllep that way for 3 nights and all is good.
may work with feet?? (cept a plastic bag instead of laytex gloves)

If your toenails start to fall out you soaked them too long. :p
