It's litterly a 2.5 acre thicket I bush hogged last year and this year I mowed down roughly a a 1/4 to 1/2 acre for the plot. And it's maybe 150 yards behind the house, but last year we got pictures of a r ally nice 120 or 130" 8 point cutting threw there so I'm going to try and catch him this year

[IMG]so just to give you all an idea of where my food plots going, the tiny tiny little property just under the white circle is where the food plot is at. I'm right on a tree like that connects a decent woods to a very very large woods. The reason I'm posting this is because my goal is to take a nowhere kinda spot and pull at least a big doe out to try and prove you don't need a 1,000 acres to harvest a deer. The whole property is 5 acres with the back 3 acres thicket that I have mowed down and getting ready to place a food plot. Anyone else out there trying backyard plots lol

That tree line may be your ticket. Looks like a possible travel route between wood lots and food and your spot doesn't look bad for doe bedding. Good luck keep us updated

I meant 150 pound bag although 150 of them would be a dang nice bait pile.

Baiting is legal in Ohio, so if you want to go that route go for it. Food plot is still a great idea either way. No such thing as too much deer food. We can't bait in Iowa, but we can feed deer (yea I know...that makes sense) away from hunting areas. I run feeders hard once the season is over to help keep deer on my properties.

Move this to the habitat sub-forum. Makes searching and finding all habitat related stuff easier for everyone coming through the forum.

We had opposite issues here once we did plant didn't get rain till finally yesterady! Should get the beans and edge mix popping.
