Alright I have been doing a little bit of research online line about what a deer needs nutrition wise throughout the year. Coming out of winter what do you guys think would be the best for them to get them back in a healthy weight? Carbs, Protein? looking for opinions

I just rely on my mineral sites to supplement their diet. 80% of their diet is browse, so I figure my Monster Raxx will help fill the other needs they have. I don't think I have a skinny deer anywhere

mineral is key all year, especially before bucks start putting on new horn and does start fawning. As far as which is more important between carbs and protiens at this time of year, thats tough to say. Supplemental needs are going to be way different in an agricultural state than say in the great north woods. I use a supplemental feed here in Kansas mainly for recon under trail cams. It's called record rack. It has a blend thats around 30% protien and high in digestable fats, deer pound this stuff before spring green up. They offer a few supplemental blends and the one I'm referring to comes in a navy blue bag. If I was in an area with less agriculture I may keep the stuff going year round out of a feeder if legal in your state. Im all about growing big mature bucks on the family farm and for them to reach full potential they've gotta have adequate nutrition and mineral. Genetics dont hurt either! just my .02 and I'm no expert so take it for what its worth.
