I'm hunting some new land this year, which is a buddy from works and we are going to put in some more food plots this sunday. Mine is going to be a 1/4 plot of biologic full draw. I said it is kinda late to be putting them in, but do you think it will be up in time? I know it wont be ready for the opener sept. 15th but how long do you think it will take to come up? Any suggestions?

I'm guessing that where you live, your soil is probably pretty good.

Full Draw is one of my favorite seeds, it has lots of brassica that will grow until late November up here, and then the deer start digging the purple turnips after that till nearly mid March. I grow roughly 3/4 of an acre on a strip on the outside edges of my biggest food plot, and also on top of the hill above the infamous "nanny whacker" stand. They will also benefit if you can put in about 100-250 lb of urea spread just before a rain. That will give them a jump start on he late seed date. You can always top dress in 30 days too with more urea too. If you really start them strong you should be ok with 60 days before hard frost.

You will be fine planting them now. Unless you know you have enough of Phosphorus and Potassium in your soil I would put down 200 lbs of 19-19-19 along with 100lbs of White Gold (Urea). Later you could top dress it with another 100lbs of White Gold before a good rain if you want, but you probably won't need to. Depending on your soil.

If you have plenty of Phosphorus and Potassium in your soil then Rick James recomendation would work great AND be cheaper. At least around here.

My buddy is a farmer and said he has all the stuff we need if the ph is off. He has all the big tractors and equipment. I'll take pics and post them up as the plots progress.

I agree with Rick James about brassicas being a good idea. Mine are doing pretty good so far, looking forward to the deer hopefully staying around throughout the season. PT Turnips and Seven top turnips. Good luck to you
