Food plots look great, but no bucks?

This year I did my first food plot, it's about an acre total (I know, not huge) and tucked away in a nice spot in the thick of the woods. I have about a dozen does visit it nearly every day, but I have yet to see one buck on the trail cams.

I'm a little worried and hoping that they aren't just walking into the field of view of the cameras. I've moved the camera's 3 times and have yet to get anything on em.

I'm wondering if I need to do something different, or do some scouting and setup another food plot?

    What do y'all think?

Just give it time and I wouldn't check them too regularly. And when you do make sure you were clothes that are scent free as well as boots. That's the only bad thing about putting a camera deep in the woods. You don't want to educate the deer checking it or moving it too frequenlty. Good luck and keep at it, they'll be there!

Patients is the key. Where there are does bucks will follow. The bucks will find those doe groups during the rut. Keep the pressure low and your scent down for now

    What these guys said!!
Patients is of the essence. I was over checking my cams early summer an almost spoke out 2 of my biggest deer I've ever seen cause I was in their about ever 3 days checking cameras cause I was getting anxious. Go to a local apple farm, buy 3 or 4 bushels of the deer/horse apples they got or find someone or somewhere with apples trees and ask If you can have the ones on the ground. Throw them around in your plot and leave about 10 in a single like and smash them up so the smell of apples get on your boots along as in the air and throw your camera out as let it soak for 2 weeks. Don't be worried about bucks right theis week they will be hiding due to shedding velvet but once the emerge for the thicket they will be looking for something good and if you have apples, boy they will be all over your spot like bees on honey. Patients my friend, you may be thinking your not hurting anything by sneaking in an out to check cameras but you really are pushing them out more and more. Trust us from expierence on this one

Already been said but will stress it again...everything sounds fine. If you have the does now, you will have the bucks later. The best years for us aren't when bachelor buck groups set up during summer and early fall on our places it's when they don't :D

I'll add that if there are any oak trees, that may be where the bucks are for now. Just wait. They will come when the rut hits and there is less and less available food. Good luck!

The bucks will come don't worry, a lot of times does will bed right near a food plot if their is ample bedding cover such as grasses and tall grass. I have learned mature bucks will bed further away from the food source in really thick cover before the rut, they are mostly loners are like to keep to themselves. Scoot

Yessir! Why if possible leveling bedding type areas moving away from the food can be amazing!
