Nice spin. You know damn well that's not what I'm getting at!!! Again, read my Michigan quote. If you, Greg, or anyone else thinks that then so be It then.

Jeff, there are guys here in PA who are getting it done without baiting as well, but they use the same tactic.... drives.... now, I am not going to put down drives as a method of hunting, but I will say... for 95% of hunters, it takes little to no knowledge of that animal to perform.

I entirely understand what you are saying Jeff, for a guy who strictly has a knowledge for bear hunting based on baiting it is pretty ridiculous for him to put down a guy stictly uses baiting to kill deer. The fact is, that isn't the case for the vast majority of bear hunters. If I am going to talk in generalizations, I am not going to speak for the .005% of that group.

Exactly. (the bolded part) Because you do not know anything about it.

Yet, and yes, I used your statement from the other thread, because basically that is what you are doing here as well. You are stating the part you know, or think you know, about bear baiting compared to deer baiting, and feel that everyone should agree with you.

    Blah, blah, blah.

I don't give a flying bald monkey's butt about any of it really.:deer:

Amen... nothing personal... its so relative to where a person hunts that its hard to take a personal grudge against somebody for it. Heck, whitetail are one of the most patternable animals out there, but hunting them varies so much from each county in state that it's impossible to try to compare from state to state!

What if it was a food plot instead of a bait pile? Suppose they planted a big berry patch??? Does that make a difference?

    Bait is illegal in NC.

However Dogs, are legal in NC except for areas designated as "Bear Sanctuaries".

I can't substantiate those claims (no Bear by dog west of I-77) by your Laws.

It's not..but having also lived in NC for several years. I remember Dog hunting being the prevelant method in my county for deer and Bear being taken by dog by some of the hunters who pursued them. I was just trying to refresh my memory

    Buck Magnet,

I live in PA as well and my buddies and I are pretty successfull when it comes to bear hunting with driving being our last tactic. Scouting is number one and your access to available land! The more land you have to scout the better chance of finding the sign. Bears in certain situations can be very predictible relating to feeding and bedding. It would be nice if we could bait in PA, at least in the archery only season!

Now that I've been dragged into this, how about I use deer to bait bear? I need to learn more about each! :deer:
