Food Plots Are Overrated

    You are spot on though, in northern ag. country fall planted plots do help. In areas of timber / corn and beans where fields are left bare in winter a fall planting of winter grains and brassica can help a herd. Fall plantings are more important than spring/ summer. These should be done as soil replenishing cover crops. Less expensive, many benefits including some draw for not only deer but turkey as well.

    Good article. I like food plotting. Never had time to do it serious but I’ve dabbled in it and had some cool hunts. Definitely only one piece of a big puzzle
