i live on a farm in southern Minnesota and have about 1 acre of grove. I have tried hunting it when i cant get permission anywhere else but haven't had any success. I had been thinking about cleaning it up between the rows of trees and either putting a feeder or food plot. I really dont know anything about either so i could use some help. Would it be worth putting some type of food source out there? I have deer and turkey pass through there now and then (especially whitetail deer) but they dont stick around. Corn and beans surround the place during the summer and fall but there is plenty of other places to feed that are closer to water so they just pass through. btw i live about a mile from a large lake. Any advice or coments are appreciated. Thanks
Where in southern mn? Can't bait so using a feeder would be pretty pointless unless it's inventory and winter feeding only. Put in a plot. I've got a nice clover plot in the middle of a grove.
First do a soil test, then plant clover between the rows. That might get some attention. If you can't plant clover mow it and throw down some rye grass.
