Finally had a day off of work last night so I stayed at my camp at the lake and got up early for a drive around to see if we'd see anything. Had a good storm last night - made for real foggy conditions this morning.. Seen a couple bucks and some does and fawns. Had to do some heavy editing to get these pics to come out at all and they're still not that good. Fog was heavy.. Another doe from this morning...I like the spiderweb over her butt.. Sniffing me .. A couple resident geese from the lake.. Deer flies driving her nuts... On the move... And a spider on our way to check the trail cams.. Hope everyone has a great week. Take care Dave
Always enjoy your photos. Thanks so much for taking the time to share them with us. You do a great job!
Dave, on the fleeing doe... you using auto focus on that, or manual? I'm just wondering if auto could compensate quick enough to stop the action like that.... I'm guessing you'd need a fairly fast ISO speed to pull that off? Great pics!!
Greg - that shot was on auto focus. It was a nice sunny day out so I had my ISO at like 250. If I remember right I think I was shootin F/5.6 and my SS was around 1/1250. Usually anything over 1250 will freeze the motion pretty good, unless your shooting birds in flight - then I like it a little higher. I got to call Photoshop - recently for some reason, all my EXIF info from my pics gets stripped when I post process them. It sucks because I like to look back and see what settings I used and compare how the shots turned out using different settings.
