Is there any other option than the HIT inserts for the FMJ's? I shot two doe's this past week with both arrows passing thru and sticking in the ground. Once inspected, i noticed that the end of both arrow "mushroomed". I'm thinking that with no insert to support the front, they are weak.

You probably need to try the broadhead adapter rings. I think they will help with that situation. I am not a big fan of the hit inserts myself.

It's not a FMJ issue it's a HIT insert issue and the adapter rings don't help. I've had it happen on Axis carbons, FMJ's and A/C Superslims. The HIT insert can't take a hit. I haven't seen another insert option to replace the HIT system either.

Great to hear this now. Just picked up a dozen FMJ's. First time using them. Fly great so far but will hopefully put it to the real test tomorrow!

Dont get me wrong, i love the arrows. The first one went through a doe and two varmints before it happened. I guess on these same hits my old aluminums would have bent anyway.

Good point but I'm not sure that a Maxima or Aramid would have been damaged by the same hit that did mine in. With the Axis shafts that cracked below the insert I just epoxied them back together with MarineTex and fared them off. The theory is that the fracture is below the insert and the insert should be holding them together to stop the fracture from going up the shaft. Haven't had any issues with those 2 shafts since.

I have taken 6 big game animals with FMJs, and the only broken arrows I have had are on protruding arrows that are snapped off on the run or when they hit the ground and roll over on them, which nothing short of rebar could resist. I sure hope these problems don't arise for me. I reused one of my FMJs in Alaska on all 3 deer if I remember correctly. I have more problems with lost arrows than broken ones. Unfound pass throughs, one miss, and and an arrow that came out of the quiver were my biggest loss, I only had two arrows break( both snapped in half when animal hit the ground and rolled over top the arrow).

They aren't perfect but still a great arrow. I have about 16 left, not sure what I will use once these are eventually used up.

Just from all the practice I have done already I know I like them. Or atleast like them better then the Carbon Express arrows I was shooting!

I would have to assume it is something they are aware of. Just by design they appear to not be as durable upon a solid impact. I am still happy with them. Just not looking forward to purchasing them more often then I did the Carbon Express.
