these heads look like they will need alot of energy to get a pass through. there is just so much blade surface area. they look really funky, give'em a try you never know i guess.

They would not be my first choice. Especially for a little bow like an Apprentice. Get some Slick tricks or Ramcats

I know a lot of people who had good luck with them, but I myself, had horrible luck. I shot my bear this year with them, and bears are notorious wimps, but mine still made it 400+ yards. The hit was sub-par (liver, one lung) but there is no reason he should have went that far, and the blood trail was scarce. Sometimes I wonder how we actually did find him.
2nd day of bow season I wounded a big 10 point using them. The hit was a little high, but as you can see in the picture, it appears that the shaft is pointing up, which makes absolutely no sense to me. I don't know if it was the broadheads fault or just horrible luck.

Not my cup of tea but I know a few who have used them with good success.....it seems to me anyone that complains about these or those being horrible broadheads say that after they make a sub par shot.....you put it where it needs to be and any broadhead will kill a deer with the right setup......easier said than done sometimes but nonetheless true

You get a liver and one lung, kill the bear...he goes 400 yards and the broad-head is at fault?

So you made two **** shots and your now blaming the broad head?

Seems to me that you should unscrew the broad heads, screw on some field points, and practice some more.

Friend lost a nice boar hog using these with his crossbow. He'd never use them again.

Where was the hit? Everything I have seen on these heads has been positive.

Some really mixed reviews here. If not these, then what broad heads would you guys suggest? (I live in a state where mechanicals are illegal.

How much weight are you pulling and at what draw length?

Most any good fixed blade broadhead will work...I am partial to Solids and VPA's ...but with that said there are literally 20 others that will work just as well.

The problem with posts on here is the responses you get are based on ...well nothing practical or factual.

For example I lost a buck in 95 with a rocket steelhead, my neighbor killed him two weeks later during the gun season. So steelheads suck...but wait? Did I tell you I made a piss poor shot? No Left that out...or how about this about three weeks before with the same bow arrows and broadheads I killed a pronghorn and mule deer in CO...so where they good then and only didn't work in NY on a whitetail?
See what I am getting at? You have to really carefully measure the worth of responses on things like this.

True stuff. However, if hes shooting too low of draw weight or not packing enough KE, that can immediately make the decision without others opinions. Seeing as though hes shooting a tiny little Bear Apprentice, the KE will be an important deciding factor with these broadheads

Thanks, your very correct I should have elaborated a bit ....I factored that into the two broadheads I recommend to him( VPA's and solids) both cut on contacts that will work with the easiest of setups.

I really wish more people would realize that KE is an awful to number to base broadhead selection from.
