If she lost all of those organs like you said, shes dead. no doubt about it and probably within 100yds. Hopefully you marked last blood, once the rain stops get back out there and just start walkin circles (you know all of this already im sure) but check under palmetto clusters, i had my turkey get up under some of those and its a wonder we found him. ill bet you anything you find her in short order. good luck, sorry to hear about the head, not real familiar with them, any clue what cause them to open in flight like that? loose maybe?

Pretty sure the force of the arrow taking off and breaking the rubber band it comes with to hold the blades in place. I tested the head on a target at home, and every single time using a new rubber band that was not deteriorated the mechanical opens very shortly after it leaves the bow.

UPDATE: Never found the deer, grid searched again and again could not find anymore sign, after Last blood mark.

Back to fixed blade broad heads.

Jtrump...i wouldnt give up on mechanicals bc of one bad experience. There are PLENTY of solid reliable mech heads out there. Grim Reapers, Dead Ringers, Rage hypodermics, NAP Killzones. Something ab those schwakers i never liked.

If it happened with the buck I'm chasing I would be literally sick. Not sure I wanna even take the chance. I do believe mechanical's can be good, but no reason to gamble on a sure thing if I do my part with a fixed blade.

Snake.jpg After sitting in the rain yesterday afternoon I nearly stepped on this guy on the way out. At least in the rain it wasn’t hot.

This guy chased a doe right behind my stand last Sunday Morning and showd up on one of my game cams by my stand Tuesday morning.

This 4 1/2' Canebreak was waiting in the trail going to my stand Saturday morning so I went around him and hunted but he was still in the trail when I came out. Didn't have to worry about him Sunday morning!
