Just got back from FL a few days ago from a hog hunt. Never been on one before and didn't quite know what to expect. We had one hell of a time though...one of the best trips I've ever taken. We stayed on a ranch in Indiantown (near Lake Okeechobee) with two awesome guides. Didn't get much sleep during the trip because we only had three full days of hunting to do. Drank a lot of beer too. :)

I stuck this old girl an hour and a half into the first morning's hunt. Shot her at 30 yards from a ground blind.

Took a second shot at another one moments later but shot under her.

That evening, I was sitting in a stand and had this family come by. I decided not to shoot. Call me soft!

The next night I took my bow and the guide's .243 to the stand. This fat girl walked out solo at 130 yards. I dropped her in her tracks. I don't gun hunt back home but that was a rush. Got a third hog the following night with the same rifle but no pics were taken.

Looks like a great time. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Vito definitely would have orphaned those little piggys.

Heck, if you had them pigglets lined up, you could've had a bunch of roasters with one arrow! ;)

    No fish killing?

The little ones are the only ones worth eating. I would have slaughtered them all.

Not to sound like a complete softy, that sow was very cautious and jumpy. :) It was neat watching her with her little ones. She would send out a couple grunts and the pigs would dart for cover. Coolest thing I've seen in a while.

The first one I took with my bow was pregnant. Abortion by arrow. I also had to go "OJ Simpson" on her azz since my arrow nicked the blind and I caught her in the spine. It was an interesting way to start the morning...multiple stab wounds may be harmful to piggies.

Christine...we shot a few gar but no pics. Those little suckers are hard to hit. Not like the carp I'm used to.

We went to a strip joint in West Palm beach....I really wish I could share some of the things we saw there but its a tad inappropiate. :)

Looks like a good time! For whatever reason, hunting hogs has never really interested me.

    Thanks guys!

Ya know...I never had the desire to either but jumped on the oppurtunity when invited to tag along. I had much more fun than I thought I would have.

Unfortunately, we did not make it there to do any fishing. Maybe next year...we plan on going back. :)

Cool, Finch. Looks like a great time. Probably odd hunting in weather like that.

Glad you got down to the sunshine state and enjoyed some of our great hog hunting. Those things aren't always easy to arrow but I really enjoy it myself. I'm hog hunting Saturday just below Lake Okeechobee.

We've got a few clubs in WPB but we also have some great salt water fishing. Guess you can't do it all.

Glad you enjoyed yourself and got some Pork. What outfitter did you use?

Yes, hence the shorts and t-shirt but I learned a valuable lesson. That second hog I shot with the rifle dropped in her tracks in a field...no problem. Well, another guy hunting with us made a bad shot on a hog with his bow and we took up the trail. Here I am in shorts, a t-shirt, and my Teva sandals walking in the marsh and belly-crawling (no joke) in some spots tracking the darned thing. Never did find it. Worst part of the trip.

Sal...can't wait to try some of the meat.

We stayed at the High Horse Ranch. I think they called themselves Head Hunter Outfitters. Great bunch of guys...I don't think they advertise like other outfitters. Just word of mouth.

Ever been to the Cheetah in WPB?
