I just moved back to my homestate of Florida, after spending some time up in Georgia. I have been hunting all my life with 15 years of that coming from hunting here in Florida. I have family that lives out west. The majority of them living in either Colorado and Oregon. I am wondering how someone like myself, low twenties working a for 10 dollars an hour, could make a hunt out west happen. I understand money will be a limiting factor, however, is it possible to hunt somewhere out there for low cost. I want to eventually hunt in every state out there, so Colorado isn't the only option for me. I apologize for the very vague question, I am just trying to get a starting point on how to expand my hunting experience.
I take it you are single. Unless you can stay with family, save up money for a decent tent(doesn't have to be expensive), sleeping bag lights and cookware. Bring your own food(canned goods, etc.). Your biggest expense will be tags and gasoline.
recommend starting out by hunting where you can stay with family and get the bugs worked out of traveling and hunting. besides the expense of getting out there and hunting once you bag one you'll have a lot of meat to take care of. will be easier if you have a friendly base to butcher it up and freeze it.
