florida bear hunt?

    anyone else planning to hunt this Florida bear season? first hunt in about 20 years so should be interesting.

    Thanks, I 've heard good reports on bear meat. being the first bear hunt held in Florida in about 20 years there is a lot of publicity on it right now. with luck it'll go smoothly and bear will continue as an option down here.

    Bear meat is delicious. I've always heard the trick is to get it skinned and cooled down right away so the oils don't start coming out of the fat. That's what ruins the flavor. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

    When I go back home to FL, I always go hog hunting. On several occasions I've stalked in close to pigs (10 yards) for it to turn out to be a bear. You should have no problem Getting one. Good luck.

    I'm plannin on gettin out there...I could kill them off my front porch any time but I put cams out on my club trying to find em and can't get a single pic of one.

    good luck. my normal hunting areas are not in the bear management counties so am exploring a new area. should be very interesting. I appreciate all the posts wishing well and the advice on handling meat.
