I am testing the water and thinking about getting a pair of flip up scope covers for my hunting rifle. I did some reading and the Butler Creek ones sound like they are built pretty cheap and fall apart these days. Seems like a lot of people are complaining about them based on my research.

Which ones have you had good or bad luck with. I don't want to buy crap that is just going to break. I'll just stick with my bikini scope cover if that is the case.

The leupold ones are really nice but very $$$. I don't have them but have seen them. I have butler creek caps that I use on the AR I call yotes with simply because I've dropped the gun in the snow more times than I care to admit. They have worked fine for me, and are cheap enough to throw in the garbage if something happens to them.

Brad, I was just looking at these trying to use up a BP gift card. The Leupold look like the way to go, flip up and lay flat. I have lost the Butler Creek style, just slipped off one night while yote hunting! The Leupold are around $60 shipped I believe, I'm gonna look around a bit to see if I can find em cheaper!

The Leupold's are the way to go, have a couple sets and they are solid. Buy it once and forget it.

Based on my reading and research the leupolds won't fit my Nikon scope.
