So my Diamond Ice bow was all set up lat year to shoot PSE carbon force dominators, I used the 200 and 300 arrows with great grouping. At the end of the year I was down to 4 arrows, so it was time to purchase some new arrows. I went to the local shop and the service guy said I would need Beman 400 arrows for my 70lb 29 inch arrows. I shot those arrows and I was consistently high by about a foot on all the new beman arrows, but my 300 PSE arrow were spot on at 20 yards. Should I site in the new arrows or should I look at 300 Beman arrows to fix my problems?

    Thanks in advance.

300 are just stronger arrows therefor being heavier I believe but it's whatever works for you, I would just sight in the Beaman 400s to save some $$

Thanks for the input, I only bought 6 of these arrows and 2 are in the woods 2 broke off and I am ready to snap the other 2 in half. My fault for not doing this in July, but sometimes life happens. I will check out the 340s because I like the way my 300s fly. Good news is that I have 7 arrows for the rest of this season.

    Thanks again guys.

A 400 spine arrow is too weak of a spine for a 70 pound bow. You should look more at a 340/350 spine arrow.
You definitely need to retune the bow when you change arrows. However, I think you'll find you'll have a hard time tuning in these arrows. I currently have Carbon Express Maxima blue Streaks and love them. They are tough arrows and I like the weight on them. However, they're on the more expensive side. Also, I like to play with different arrows.

Another option you may be able to do and get away with the .400 spine is to cut them an inch shorter if it's possible. That will help with spine.

I like paper tuning for this exercise by the way. This method really shows how the arrow is coming out of the bow and a lot of basic arrow tuning can be corrected.

Just an update, I found some extra arrows and I am back in the game. Shot about 50 arrows today and had a great grouping. Thanks for all the input and I will revisit the 340/350 fine tuning after the season is over. Now on to my scent research, the life of a 2011 bowhunter is filled with researching the best hunting practices.
