I think it's worse in parts of New England / northern mud Atlantic states... If it's not dark, it belt like it was grey for months... Depressing.
Further north you are the earlier the sun sets. Add being the furthest most Eastern state in a time zone...yeesh. November- January is brutal. It's dark before 5pm. But yes, NE is brutal as well...just checked- Sunset in Bangor, ME today is 4:04 local time. Sunset here today is 4:27 local time.
