    Yeah I went thru that 5 years ago only reception was at a golf course, should have seen the look on my face when they busted out pizzas at 10:00 I paid for dinner 3 hours ago.

    You can do a wedding on a big budget or very small...it's a choice.

    We wrote out kids a check and said 'this is what we will contribute', they got to figure out out...

    I only paid for 2 weddings, mine and then my daughter's. The wedding was cheap compared to what a couple of her horses cost.

    I was lucky! My daughter wanted as stress free a wedding/reception as possible. They had a small church wedding and the reception was held the next weekend at a near by campground.

    The police did show up but all was good. Nobody went to jail. Seems someone at the other end of the campground went for a walk at 930 PM and heard some music and decided to be a pain in the ass! The other couple at the park (this was in early Oct) stopped by to see what was going on. THEY got invited to stay for food and drinks.

    I got off cheap for the wedding. College....not so much.
