Uuummm while you are right, I had a coworker ask me what my credit rating was several years back. I told him 815, which it was. He said wow that is low. His was 1100 something. According to him, he was in the Platinum Level and I would be lucky to make it in the Bronze Level since I was so low. Platinum level was higher then the Gold Level. I was trying not to laugh in his face. He had gone through bankruptcy the year before. I am pretty sure his credit score was 300, if he even had one.

Someone thinking they have a credit score off 220 is at least in the realm of close enough. ^^^^ That wasn't .

 

Pretty sure FICO max is 850, there are other models for auto (max might be 900), specific and such. I’ve also never heard of a metals level applied to credit scores, debt to income or other related analytics…and bankruptcy stocks on your record for 7 years so, yeah, I’d call bs.

815 is a great score, but the old debt to income also an important measure.

About 25 years ago we ran some regression analysis on the (asset) portfolio at one of the top banks in the country, it was clear that was the golden standard… fast forward about 10 years I had moved onto another company and that same bank (that decided the left coast was where the $ was to be made) was hemorrhaging from mortgage losses and fines…

And I agree with your assessment of your coworker.
