    We had a South African working for us at the farm and the guy was full of himself. Bragging how everything in his country could kill anyone. How poisonous the snakes were. We had a den of garter snakes by the burn barrels ( trash ) by the shop. One day he was bragging again. I told him to follow me and one of the snakes was peeking out the hole. I told him that it was more poisonous then their deadliest snake and if bite, you would be dead before making back to the shop which is a bout 35 feet away. Got to give the boss and other guy credit... they kept a straight face and said it was true. He bought it. Later that afternoon when we knew the snakes would be out, we sent him out to burn some trash.

    We heard screaming and the guy ran back into the shop. He was screaming there must be 50 or 60 of them by the burn barrel and he wasn't going near it. That weekend he went to a big party and told everyone of his narrow escape of death with the garter snakes. They all laughed at him and teased him. Boy was he pissed at me the following Monday morning. Thought the boss and other guy was going to die laughing as he tried to chew me out. Good times !!!!
