Well I am looking at getting into fletching my own arrows. My question is this. I am looking at the Arizona EZ fletch, but I want to be able to experiment with different vanes. If I do the EZ fletch pro, it says it can handle any vanes from 2-5". Is that going to put the same level of helical if I use the 2" blazer vanes as the EZ fletch mini would? What are your thoughts please, and what are the best vanes that you have tried out?

The mini puts more of a helical on them the the standard. If your planing on staying with with blazers the mini is the one to get.

I have a Bitz with both straight and helical claps, and I also have EZ mini that I only use for blazer vanes. Any other vane gets put on the Bitz.

If your looking to simplify your life, and your staying with the set up you have listed in your signature then you will be just fine with blazers fletched with the EZ mini, it really puts a nice helical on them and they make for excellent fixed blade broad head flight.

If you looking to play around and experiment then I would spend them and get a Bitz

What makes the bitz better for other vanes etc? If I get into the fletching what else do I need? The jig, vanes, glue, and some acetone to clean off the glue residue?

the ezfletch has a fixed size slot to slide the vanes or feather in. In my old ezfletch the feathers are two thick to fit. the bitz uses a clamp that you open and clamp over the vane or feather so it'll fit any vane or feather. pus the bitz is adjustable as to the degree of offset. pus you can get either right or left helical as well as straight clamps so you have max flexibility. I like experimenting and tweaking so the bitz is better for me. as for other items needed, vanes or feathers and glue. Also recommend using wraps as it makes renewing fletching much easier. I prefer to make my own wraps and simply print them out on blank bumpersticker paper from the big box office supply stores. works fine and only costs a nickel or so per wrap.

I use a AZ mini for Blazers and Gateway 2" Razr feathers. Anything else and I use my Jo-Jan, but I seldom fletch with anything other than Blazer vanes these days.
