What flashlight do you guys use for hunting purposes. (tracking, walking in, getting ready to go in, ect) I currently use a guidesman 180 lumen flashlight and it works great but the beam is to small at times. I am color blind with reds and some greens so seeing blood is already hard enough. I was thinking of buying around a 1million candle power spotlight that is rechargable to use for these purposes what do you all think?

For walking in/out & tracking I use Browning's Nitro Headlamp

And if I need a little more power, I use this Cyclops Spot light. It's small, easy to pack, and super bright.

I definitely recommend 4 Sevens. I have a few lights from them. Their customer service has always been amazing to me.

I have had Cabelas, surefire, mag light, and several other brands of flashlights. The only one I ever carry is a Coleman 3way light I got for christmas a few years back. Batteries last forever and it has red, blue and white light. I had a flip top cover with green tint for my Cabelas light so I put this on there and now I have all 4 colors at the flip of a switch/cover.

I have dropped it 20ft out of the stand dropped it on concrete, got left in the back of my truck one night in a downpour and still just keeps working. Its not the brightest light in the world but more than bright enough for most applications. Kind of wierd having $100 lights just sitting around the house in case of power outages but the Coleman just does too many things well for me not carry it.

I have 2 Mag Lites (back-up) for trailing/gutting at night, but otherwise, I don't use a light in the woods because I know the trails I use, and deer know the source of the light.

Use a petzl headlamp or my Cabelas guide headlamp. If I have a tough night tracking job I use a white gas lantern. Makes the blood glow blue. Easier tracking.

    Petzl TacTikka XP® Headlamp

The best head lamp I have ever owned. It's only bright when you need it to be. Comes with a blue, red, and green filter. 3 power settings, a flasher, and a instant max power button if you need to really see what's going on around you. I like to sneak into my stand with it's lowest setting with the green filter in place. It's just enough light to get your work done. Only light I carry other than a ultra mini mag light for backup.

I picked mine up new on ebay for around $45.

Yes as said four sevens or check out fenix. IMO as good as sure fires at a 1/2 of price. Plus you can get them to accept AA's or AAA's not the other batteries you can never find and are outrageously expensive. (CR123 or something)

I use the streamlight buck masters headlamp. Keeps my hands free on the walk in and climb up the tree. Has a high beam, low beam, and stealth green LED settings. Got mine for around 40$ at bass pro shops. It's all I'm ever gonna need getting to the stand.

And, this is gonna sound like I'm a cocky a-hole, but I've never needed a special light to help me track a deer because the 3 I've killed all died in sight from my tree. :-)
