Do flash cameras scare the deer when it takes a picture of them or does the deer not even notice them? Also, I am looking to buy a new trail camera any suggestions???

Some deer will spook from a flash some deer will spook from IR some deer will spook from just seeing the camera on a tree. They each have their own personality and tolerate some things more than others.

DLC Covert makes a nice flash camera The Reveal. I own 7 and really like them.

This advice is spot-on. The only thing I would add is that if you are using some sort of food in front of the camera, They will usually soon ignore the camera all together. Another white-flash you might consider is the Scoutguard 565f. Very compact size. One other thing you might consider about a white-flash cam is they don't take night time videos.

    Blessings.......Pastorjim

I heard that the 2012 Covert Reveal and SG565F-8M are Long Range cameras, meaning that they have a Detection/Illumination distance of at least 67 feet. Considering the small size of Reveal/SG565F-8M and excellent battery life, I wonder if a homebrew can match the performance on range.
