Watch what the media does to this old guy. I bet they pen him to be the bad guy by this time next week and the two armed robbers were just desperate and made teency mistake. The mother of one of these kids will be suing this guy next:(

Authorities in central Florida say two men were trying to rob an Internet cafe when a 71-year-old patron began shooting his own gun, wounding the suspects.
Surveillance video shows two masked men entering the Palms Internet Cafe around 10 p.m. Friday. The Ocala Star-Banner reports one pointed a gun at customers while the other swung a baseball bat.

The video shows patron Samuel Williams pulling a handgun and shooting. He continues firing while the suspects fall over each other as they run out the door.
Nineteen-year-olds Duwayne Henderson and Davis Dawkins were later arrested and face attempted armed robbery with a firearm and criminal mischief charges. They were transported to Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Dawkins had a superficial wound in his left arm, but Henderson was shot in two places: his left buttock and his right hip.
Both posted bail and were released.
Williams has a concealed weapons permit. Bill Gladson of the Marion County State Attorney's Office says the shooting appears justified.
Neither of the men have a criminal record, authorities said
Both men were arrested for attempted robbery with a firearm.

Just think of how fewer armed robberies like this we'd have if more people carried?

    I have a permit but don't carry.

In IL that guy would be arrested and charged with all sorts of felonies. He'd probably go to jail for the rest of his life. And even he managed to go free, he'd be financially destroyed.
    :(

Anyhow, I think Mr. Williams did a good job. He reacted quickly and definitively.

Criminals planning on the same type of heists will need to rethink the risks involved.... or move to Illinois.

Good for him! And afflicted your right if more people would carry weather it be open or concealed there would be less crime in the long run i believe. And im sure they will try to turn this around on him but that is where the people need to stand their ground.I carry at all times concealed one to protect myself and family and also because our forefathers gave me the right to do it.

    For sure.

#1 He's an old white guy + They were black and wearing hoodies = Hate crime. ;)
#2 They were running away and he was still shooting. (I can guarantee you someone is going to whine about this)
#3 The very fact that he had a gun and used it creates a hostile work environment for armed robbers. Not too mention the lack of proper ear protection... OSHA should be all over this.
