I have always used climbing stands but I'm in the market for a fix/hang-on treestand this year. Now it seems that Muddy and Lone Wolf are the front runners in the current market. The problem I have is if I am not comfortable, I get very fidgety and for some reason the store owners don't like it when I try to climb thier fake tree displays to "test" the comfort of different stands. So before I drop $400 to $500 bucks on a stand and sticks that I can't try before I buy, I'd like to poll you guys. I'm just concerned with comfort (5-6+ hour sits) and not so much about weight, set-up, ect..

And on a side note I'm not limted to just Lone Wolf and Muddy, it just seems that anytime someone asks about treestands on here those are the only brands dicussed.

    I'm the same way.

I put another cushion on my LW and it's OK but I think go with a muddy if I bought another one.

I have only sat in a lone wolf and I loved it bit it wasn't a hang on it was the climber. But still they have to have some of the same comfort as the hang on. I could sit in the lone wold stand all day

Lon Wolf has a try before you buy program if you can find a dealer that uses it. Check thier web site for info.

I own a few of their cheaper ones but was going to try this model next.

I like their sticks too but you need to add washers the bolts for strength.

The Walmart near my house has one made by Ameristep that looks just like this one. I think it runs around 70 bucks. I think i may end up buying one to try out. Probably will buy one by the end of October for those early to late November on all day sits.

I have 7 LW hang ons. When I buy more stands, it'll be more of the same. They're very adjustable to fine tune your comfort.

If you have a Gander Mountain close to you they usually have all their hang on tree stands set on poles just above the floor for you to try out. Check them out if you can.
