Each to their own. You'll find loyalists of both. My friend uses expandables, I use fixed. Slick Trick 100g for me. Never have to worry about it deploying

If one was better then they would only make one. Both have their up side and down side.

The answer is relative to who's being asked. With the average good bow setup either will kill deer. There are advantages and disadvantages to each.

Do some research on specific advantages for each and decide for yourself - we can't decide for you :)

Fixed. Now which fixed is better, thats not really possible to answer. But, with fixed you can always be sure it will hit opened and stay opened. Expandables have to much that can go wrong. Sure, they have bigger cutting areas, and on average fly better with out much work at all. But, why take the risk? Take the extra time to turn to the fixed broadhead that works best for you, then you know when you hit, it will do its job instead of sitting in stand after the shot hoping it opened.

I use both so I am always right. Or am I always wrong?

Just have to do minor tuning when switching back an forth.

In my opinion I'm an advocate for fixed blade simply because they seem to fly smoother and have less problems, at least maybe just the way I shoot.

Magnus makes good fixed blade heads too. They fly like field points, are razor sharp, made in the USA and have an awesome warranty.

I like my two blade rage broadheads...no issues to this point....several harvests later...however, I do not care for the rage chisel tip. Used the chisel point to harvest an animal without issue, but upon examination of the wound area, the blades narrowed up alot sooner than expected...

There has been like 30 threads about this. Both of them will get the job done. Fixed are very dependable as long as you put in the time to practice with them. Expandable fly great but still have to worry about them not deploying. I use Muzzy broadheads and I love them.

I have my opinion but ultimately shoot what makes you confident and comfortable.

ahhhh.........somehow this question still remains :)
I'm giving myself the option this year of either or depending on circumstances. I have NAP Thunderhead 100gr fixed 3 blade and I just bought the NAP Killzone 100gr expandable 2 blade. My thinking is this........If I set up in an area where 25+ yards will be my shooting probability distance I'm going with a fixed blade. These suckers fly very well and I'm very accurate out to 50 yards, and they plow through whatever happens to get in front of it. I don't want to chance injuring a deer at a longer distance because an expandable does tend to lose a little forward momentum in the expanding process. Also more longer blade surface area will increase drag as it cuts through the deer. Now if my area to hunt that day is heavy cover and I'm not probably going to take a shot longer than 25 yards or so, I plan to bring my deer into the KILLZONE 2 blade expanding experience :) I'm around 70 KE on my bow and arrow set up, so at that distance, with that expandable I'm hoping to cut my deer in HALF :) Ok, I'm joking but you get my thinking, I hope on keeping options open to use both types of broadheads depending on hunt circumstances. Oh one more thing, make sure you practice with both before heading out to the woods. They may fly differently out of your set up. Always practice before with whatever you choose. I have been shooting only broadheads for about six months in practice.

The NAP killzones, based on my research seem like they have the dependability from mech. Broadheads figured out. I really like the system they use vs. Rage or others.

I stick with fixed. I'd hate to lose a deer because of a simple malfunction.
